symmetrical biconvex wing

An airfoil section that is a compromise between the optimum supersonic and subsonic requirements; it has a low thickness/chord ratio for high-speed flight and at the same time has curves for low-speed work. This type of airfoil has very little movement of the center of pressure. See symmetrical airfoil.
